Executive & documentary interviews
Interviews are the format I have shot more than any other — and the one where preparation, listening, and a calm set matter as much as the camera. A good interview setup makes the subject forget the lens is there, holds clean sound across a long conversation, and gives the edit room to breathe. I have done this for Nobel laureates, CEOs, and legendary artists, in offices, concert halls, and on location.
Two of the interviews I am most known for are with Nobel laureates in physics. For Swedish National Television (SVT) I served as director of photography on a portrait of Giorgio Parisi, the Italian physicist who won the Nobel Prize in 2021. At the Future Energy Forum during World Expo 2017 in Astana, I filmed an interview with George Smoot, the American astrophysicist who won the Nobel Prize in 2006. Filming people of that standing means getting the technical work invisible and right the first time — there is rarely a second take.

I also work on interviews for broadcast and streaming documentaries. I was director of photography on an interview filmed in Rome for "An American Serial Killer in Cairo," an upcoming HBO Max documentary releasing in September 2026. Over several years I was one of the cinematographers on two documentaries about the legendary violinist Ida Haendel, both directed by Christine Jezior — "This Is My Heritage" (2011) and "The Haendel Variations" (2018), the latter winner of Best Feature Documentary in Music at the 2019 World Music Film Festival and now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. For Jezior's "Why Competition" I filmed interviews with laureates of the International Chopin Piano Competition.

On the corporate side, I have filmed executive interviews with senior leadership including David Pinn, CEO of Brain Corp, Randy Wilson, CEO of Driveline, and Oriol Pujadó, co-founder of Piccolo Studio, the Barcelona game studio behind Arise: A Simple Story and After Us. These are typically shot on a two-camera setup — a wider primary frame and a tighter secondary — on a RED Komodo 6K with Zeiss Standard Speed primes, with a Sennheiser MKH-416 shotgun and Sanken COS-11 lavalier for clean dialogue, and a full owned lighting package.

For remote stakeholders I share a question framework in advance and send fast review links after the shoot. First cuts arrive within 24 to 48 hours of wrap; the final corrected video follows within 24 hours of your feedback.
