VIP Photography and Videography for Leaders, Executives and Public Figures
Photographing heads of state, executives, and public figures is defined by one thing above all: you get very little time, and you cannot get in the way. Protocol governs where you stand, the subject is rarely yours to direct, and there is no second attempt. Through Protocol Portraits, my dedicated practice for diplomatic and institutional work, I have photographed at exactly this level for nearly two decades.
In 2017 I served as an official photographer for the State Visit of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands to Portugal, where I also photographed the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, and the Prime Minister, António Costa. I documented the visit of Henri, Grand Duke of Luxembourg, to Lisbon in 2022, and photographed a State of New Jersey trade delegation led by Governor Phil Murphy in Mexico City in 2025. At a KAICIID dialogue event in Lisbon in 2024 I filmed Graça Machel during her address. This is work where discretion, an understanding of protocol, and a minimal on-set footprint matter as much as the images themselves.

The same discipline carries into public and corporate settings. At the Future Energy Forum during World Expo 2017 in Astana I photographed figures including the Nobel laureate George Smoot, the explorer Bertrand Piccard, and the geopolitical strategist Parag Khanna on the keynote stage. I have also shot portrait photography of Nobel laureate Giorgio Parisi, commissioned by Swedish National Television. For companies I produce executive portraits and leadership photography — from CEO portraits such as David Pinn of Brain Corp to corporate headshot sessions for teams like Murzilli Consulting — bringing the same calm, unobtrusive approach to a boardroom that a state visit demands.
Whether the subject is a head of state, a keynote speaker, or a chief executive, the work is delivered discreetly, quickly, and to a press-ready standard. Sensitive assignments are handled confidentially. For diplomatic and protocol enquiries, Protocol Portraits operates as a dedicated practice; corporate and executive work is arranged directly through Haikai Media.
