CASE STUDY
Zühlke
Employer Branding Film Series

For Zühlke, an international engineering and innovation consultancy, Haikai Media developed and produced a three-part employer branding film series designed to attract highly skilled engineers and consultants across European markets.
The objective was clear: communicate depth, credibility and intellectual rigor without relying on conventional recruitment language. The films needed to resonate with experienced professionals who value substance over slogans.
Concept and Narrative
The series was structured around authentic reflection. Instead of scripted corporate messaging, each film centered on a different Zühlke professional speaking about their work, decision-making process and long-term impact.
The narrative focused on three core themes:
Engineering as responsibility.
Collaboration across disciplines.
Innovation with long-term relevance.
Each protagonist was positioned as a thinking professional rather than a brand ambassador. The tone remained calm, precise and grounded in real experience.
Visual Language
Haikai Media approached the series with a restrained cinematic aesthetic. Interviews were lit with controlled, naturalistic setups that emphasized presence and clarity. Framing was deliberate and composed, creating visual authority without theatricality.
Camera movement was minimal. The pacing respected silence and nuance. This approach allowed ideas to unfold with intellectual weight.
Workspaces were integrated carefully to contextualize the speakers within their technical environment, reinforcing authenticity without turning the films into visual tours.
Production
The three films were conceived as a coherent system rather than isolated pieces.
Pre-production involved close collaboration with Zühlke’s internal team to identify profiles that represented different dimensions of the company’s culture. Interview structures were refined to encourage reflection and specificity.
Production focused on creating a concentrated atmosphere in which participants could articulate complex ideas comfortably and precisely.
Post-production emphasized clarity, rhythm and cohesion across the series. Editing was intentionally measured. Color grading aligned with Zühlke’s brand palette while maintaining a natural tonal range.
Deliverables
The project included:
– Three standalone employer branding films
– Platform-specific cut-down versions
– Assets adapted for website, recruitment campaigns and social media
Impact
The series strengthened Zühlke’s positioning as an intellectually rigorous engineering partner. It provided recruitment teams with cinematic yet credible content capable of engaging experienced professionals.
By combining documentary sensibility with strategic brand communication, Haikai Media translated Zühlke’s internal culture into a coherent visual narrative that reflects competence, responsibility and long-term thinking.
